To ensure the smooth running of your mesh network, you need to check if all the eeros are properly connected to the network. After initial placement of your eero wifi setup devices, there is no need to move the devices again unless you notice a drop in signal strength or the performance of the internet is deteriorating. You can also go to the ‘Connection Details’ section under individual eeros to improve wireless connectivity to your gateway eero, which is the eero that is directly connected to your modem.
In order to check the quality of the eero connection, you need to go through below-mentioned steps:
- Launch ‘eero’ app.
- From the home screen, you need to go to individual eeros, which you can find at the bottom of the app.
- Tap on an eero device then, tap the ‘Connection Details’ option, which you can find in the second section from the top.
- Your eero is going to show you either ‘wired’ or ‘wireless’ connection to the gateway.
Note: In case, you are running a wired network, i.e., all your eeros or some of them are connected via Ethernet, the connection details section is going to show ‘Wired’ with a wired icon for that particular eero installation. You can move the position of those eeros in order to improve the connection quality to the external devices. However, you need to keep in mind that such repositioning is not going to improve any network issues you may have. For that, you will have to get in touch with eero setup and support providers.
In the ‘Connection details’ section, you are going to see a lot of details regarding the strength of wireless connection from an eero placed in your house to the gateway eero.
Check the ‘Internet signal’ icon and if you see five green bars, then that means, the signal strength is excellent. If one or two bars are greyed, then the signal strength is good to not so good respectively. If you see only two bars, which are in orange color, then the signal strength is not good and you should reposition your eero support device. At last, if you see one bar, which is also fading up, then the connection is poor and you will have to fix the connection to access the internet in a proper manner.
For poor signal strength, you will see an option ‘Fix poor connection’ right below the icon, so tap that option to follow the steps provided to fix the connection issues. If you continue to see the poor connection for a specific eero, then you will have to get in touch with eero setup and support because only they can help you with this particular issue.
